Wolfram Alpha Launches Desktop App

Computational knowledge engine Wolfram Alpha has launched its first Windows desktop app through Intel's AppUp store.

Aimed primarily at laptops and Ultrabooks, the app sports an optimized user interface that takes advantage of the full PC screen as well as a specialized keyboard, extended copy/paste of query results and graphics and easy resizing of said results.

The app covers areas such as elementary math, plotting, algebra, geometry and trigonometry, but Wolfram Alpha plans to get even more specialized later this year by offering Course Assistant Apps -- also through the AppUp store -- in subjects such as calculus, astronomy, physics, and chemistry.

Wolfram Alpha desktop app is available here for $2.99.
