Summary Box: Google Drive faces content concerns

CONTENT CONCERNS: Google is already facing a hubbub over the rules governing the digital content kept on its new online storage service.

THE RED FLAG: A clause in the disclosures about the Google Drive service tells users they will be granting a worldwide license for Google Inc. to copy and distribute all content stored in the system. The language raised fears that Google Drive users risk surrendering the intellectual property rights to their content.

THE REALITY: The wording actually is standard legalese to give Google the licensing rights that it needs to deliver on the services that users request.
