No Matter What Features the iPad 3 Has, it Will Be a Hit

COMMENTARY| According to a report from CNN, next week Apple is holding a news conference, where it is rumored the launch of the newest generation of iPads will take place. While a lot of time and effort has gone into wondering what features the new tablet computer will have, the easiest answer is it largely does not and will not matter.

According to CNET, Apple is a $500 billion company, and a company does not get that successful without knowing what it is doing. The iPad controlled 66 percent of the tablet PC market in 2011, as reported by TechZone360.com. Making a newer version of a market-leading tablet seems to be a surefire way to keep cash rolling into the company.

While the CNN article reports a clearer display for the iPad 3 is probably going to happen and a host of other features as well, the machine has done quite well without a USB port, top-notch camera and the price does not really seem to be an issue. But the news conference could contain other Apple surprises like a smaller version of the iPad, as the CNET report indicates.

When a product controls that much of the market share, any new generation of the same device is as close to a sure thing as the tech world can get. Apple has a pretty solid track record in making devices people want to own, and this is bound to be just another hit in what has been a steady iPad hit-making machine.

Sure other tablets are popular, but even the Kindle Fire cannot lay claim to being as popular as the Apple machine. There is a reason the Internet has run into a flurry and speculation, but the larger truth is that it does not matter what features Apple has decided to put into the iPad 3. The device will be popular no matter what.
