Detective: Rutgers roommate saved tweets

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) — A detective has shown jurors that a Rutgers University student saved screenshots of his roommate's Twitter postings that said he was seen on a video chat "making out with a dude" and "daring" others to watch.

The student, Tyler Clementi, killed himself in September 2010, a day after he saved the last tweet to his computer drive.

His roommate, Dharun Ravi, is on trial on charges of bias intimidation, invasion of privacy and other crimes. Authorities say he used Twitter to tell others they could watch web streaming Clementi's encounter with another man.

Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office Investigator Gary Charydczak (CHARD'-zick) showed jurors records from Clementi's computer.

He said he visited Ravi's Twitter page 38 times between Sept. 20 and Sept. 22, the day he jumped off the George Washington Bridge.
