September is shaping up to be quite the month for smartphone launches -- that is, if all the reports of forthcoming devices shape up to be true.

We can expect the next Galaxy Note in late August, the next iPhone Sept. 12 and now, Nokia's latest smartphone line can be expected as early as September at Nokia World, according to Bloomberg.
A "person with knowledge of the matter" said the mobile phone maker plans to have a new line of Windows Phone 8 handsets ready to ship before the holidays for year-end shopping.

Since the 2007 introduction of the iPhone, Nokia has lost 90% of its market share. Announcing it would adopt Microsoft's smartphone operating system in 2011, giving up its homegrown Symbian, was an attempt to regain its role in the mobile market.
During Q2, Nokia sold 4 million of its just-released flagship smartphone, the Lumia 900. That figure pales in comparison to Apple's 35.1 million iPhones sold during the same quarter.
Last month, Nokia cut the price of the Lumia 900 in half, dropping its ticket down to just $50.

While many manufacturers release their high-end products first before bringing out the cheaper models in the range, with its Windows Phone Lumia range Nokia went straight for the middle ground with the Lumia 800 and 710. It then top and tailed the range with the budget 610 and this, the high-end Lumia 900.
