Reddit's culture is enigmatic to many. The social news site started in 2005 as a place for people to find new and interesting things online. Today, the front page consistently tracks the unique and hottest stories by the hour.

Though anonymity is still a prominent part of the Reddit community, users have shown plenty of heart -- from small gestures for the terminally ill to powerful social good for mainstream media.
It's rather difficult to sum up all of Reddit -- including its subreddits, community, controversy and culture. But PBS's web series Off Book interviewed co-founders Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian, and they explain extensively in less than 10 minutes.
