After a week-long delay of the scheduled launch of the Falcon rocket, carrying the company's Dragon spacecraft, a new date was set: May 7.

Now, SpaceX says that date is "unlikely," without specifying a new date for the launch.

The reason for the delay is the same as the first time around. "SpaceX is continuing to work through the software assurance process with NASA," spokeswoman Kirstin Grantham said in a statement.

May 10 is a possible new date for the launch but the company cannot commit to it, either. "We will issue a statement as soon as a new launch target is set," she said.

If the mission goes as planned, SpaceX will be the first private company to send a spacecraft to the ISS on a cargo mission. The Dragon spacecraft is designed to carry humans, too -- a manned mission to the ISS is the next step SpaceX plans to take following a successful cargo mission.
